I walk you talk etc Let op: bij he/she/it komt er een -s achter, bijv. she sleeps he eats Let op: to do :she does to go: he goes to watch: she watches to carry: he carries gebruik: als iets vaak, nooit of altijd gebeurt: I eat an apple every day He never sleeps late She often sends me postcards Signaalwoorden: always, never usually, often sometimes every day / every week etc als iets een feit is: the sun sets in the west flowers need water I like cats

4 vorm: regelmatig: ww + -ed onregelmatig: 2e rijtje bijv.: I walk to school - I walked to school I go to school - I went to school she wants a cat - she wanted a cat She teaches music - she taught music gebruik: iets is in het verleden begonnen en afgelopen! (er staat een bepaling van verleden tijd bij!) NB Kijk dus niet naar de Nederlandse vertaling! Kijk alleen of de actie in het verleden is gebeurd. Signaalwoorden: yesterday, this morning, last year, in 1980 when...? (at) what time...? how long ago...?

5 vorm: has/have + voltooid deelwoord (reg. ww + -ed, onreg. 3e rijtje) bijv. I have talked to him. (reg.) I have spoken to him (onreg.) She has walked the dog. (reg.) She has taken the dog for a walk. (onreg.) gebruik: - iets is in het verleden begonnen en duurt nog voort. - iets was in het verleden maar er staat NIET bij wanneer! Signaalwoorden: Since : sinds, vanaf For (two years now): gedurende, nu al Just: zojuist, pas, (daar)net Ever, never: ooit, nooit Yet: al, nog Already: al Lately: de laatste tijd So far: tot nu toe (for) how long? : hoe lang al?
