2 14.5 Nullification Crisis 1.Congress passed a law raising tariffs 2.North liked the tariffs 3.South disliked the tariffs 4.Calhoun led South Carolinas rebellion over the tariffs. Said tariffs favored northern states Threatened to secede Compromise reached when Congress agreed to lower tariff tax over next 10 years

3 14.7 Jacksons Indian Policy 1.Jackson had very little sympathy for natives 2.The Five Civilized Tribes of the South hoped to stay on their homelands and learned the white way of life. 3.Indian Removal Act of Allowed Jackson to make treaties with Indians to move to new land in the Great Plains 2.Supreme Court said they could keep their lands in the east 3.Jackson forced them to move anyway! 4.Trail of Tears is the journey that 17,000 natives took from Georgia to Oklahoma
