3 Summary When he was 13, his father frequently took him on short outings on Saturdays. Sometimes they went to a park, or to a marina to look at boats. On the way home from these trips, his father frequently stopped at the Dairy Queen for 10-cent ice cream cones. when they decided to eat an ice cream cones, his father would hand him(son) 20cents and he would buy an ice cream cones. On one fateful day, they were heading home, his father asked him "How would you like to treat ice cream today? That time, he(son) thinks ice cream just wasn't a good use of money, when it was my money. so he said "In that case, I guess I'll pass". As they turned to head home, he realized how wrong he was and felt awful for his selfishness and ungratefulness. He learned that gratefulness sometimes costs a little more than "thank you"

13 I had experienced similar to this story. When I was young, my elder sister bought cake for family. At that time, parents just got home after finishing work, they have to shower. But while they wash up, we started eating a cake. When my mom came out, the cake was not left. Although she didn’t rub in it, or even act disappointed, I realize how ungrateful I was. I also felt I was selfish. Frankly speaking, this is not big event. But I think about this sometimes. A lot of people think I will be the rich and reward parents for gratefulness giving to us after I become the rich. I am also too. But like this story, gratefulness sometimes costs a little more than ‘thank you’ opinion
