1 Rehabilitation in shorts Methodological reflections concerning using physical activity in pro-health and rehabilitative impacts regarding prisoners dr Piotr Łapiński Central Board of Prison Service, Poland

2 I try to remember, that physical education is:  an „education” because it shapes the attitudes, personal responses to something, the value system  and „physical” – because it shapes THESE VALUES, THESE RESPONSES and THESE ATTITUDES that determine human behaviour referring to physicality. it means, that: it is an education that shapes attitudes connected to human physicality and/or human carnality, therefore an education that shapes attitudes which are not related to physicality is now a DIFFERENT kind of education. This cannot be done by physical education. The motive power of physical education ends here.

3 process of physical education physical education classes ≠ The new role in the film entitled „Rehabilitation in Shorts”. The character: INTEGRATOR CAN the process of physical education be used to shape attitudes not associated with physicality? The process of physical education CAN BE USED TO SHAPE attitudes not associated with human physicality. But TO MAKE THIS POSSIBLE, this process must be assigned a new function - the function of integration.

4 Integration function can be additionally entrusted to physical education of prisoners. Then, process of physical education is becoming responsible also for an integration of influences implemented during this process influences implemented during education processes other than physical one integrated process of multi-area education (for example correctional physical education) with into The concept of correctional physical education

9 The physical education process in a new role enables Entrusting the process of physical education the integration function enables the use of physical education to create a suitable foundation, positive vibrarions, a proper basis for co-existence along with the physical education process other education processes different from physical ones. This function ennobles the physical education process to the role of specific media for other pedagogic impacts. PE

10 EduTriathlon (edition for fathers) OBJECTIVES: 1)To moderate hypokinetic effects 2)To present the possibility of health self-care in prison with the use of physical activity 3)To prepare prisoners to act as the healthy lifestyle INITIATOR in the family (during passes and after release) 4)To show prisoners the possibility of using a healthy lifestyle in the de-stigmatization of their family But how…??? ???

11 Recruitment Classes No 1 (on the pitch of EduTriathlon Cup) A series of 6 educational classes 'Family Motor Recreation' A series of 18 training classes 'Ready for EduTriathlon Cup' 'The importance of play in child development’ Team recreational party EduTriathlon Cup Participants will get to know: 1)the ROUTE of the final competition AND 2)that there will be points for answers to questions (located on the route) and that giving INCORRECT ANSWERS will result in a PENALTY ROUND. Participants receive 40 control questions and the information that they will draw 6 similar questions during final competition. They also find out that THEY CAN GET ANSWERS HERE.

12 EduTriathlon – schemat uproszczony Recruitment A series of 6 educational classes 'Family Motor Recreation' A series of 18 training classes 'Ready for EduTriathlon Cup' CLASSES No 1: The situation of a family in connection with one of its members stay in prison CLASSES No 2: The most important recommendations concerning physical activity of children CLASSES No 3: Terms for getting health benefits by undertaking physical activity CLASSES No 4: Skillful encouraging children and youth to be physically active CLASSES No 5: Lack and excess of physical activity CLASSES No 6: The role of parents in the education of physical activity Hint: „Particular attention should be paid to the need for rebuilding weak or lost social bonds and the correct intrafamily relationships shaping, the stigmatization and de-stigmatization issues of prisoners and their families and significance and importance of the parent role along with presentation of the possibility of fulfilling this role while stay in prison and after release”.
