1 Mrs. Buettner Active Living: enjoy and engage in healthy levels of participation in movement activities to support lifelong active living in the context of self, family, and community. Behavior. I expect great behavior all the time. I have a three strike rule that ensures positive behavior. Clothing. Please ensure your child has appropriate clothing where they are able to fully participate without limitations. Do your best! “If you never did you should. These things are fun and fun is good.” – Dr. Seuss Equipment. I ask and expect each student to treat the equipment like its their own. Footwear. Please ensure your child is able to tie their own shoes for the safety of themselves as well as others. Gum. For safety reasons, the gymnasium is a no gum zone. Healthy Active Lifestyle: physical activity is a lifesaver. It cuts the risk of heart disease almost in half Injuries. In the case of a unfortunate event, I will be sure to contact you. Jewelry. I ask that jewelry is left in your child’s desk, locker, or backpack so that it is not lost in the gym. Keeping Updated. Check out my door to see what your child has been learning and participating in. Lost & Found. At the end of each day items found in the gymnasium will be taken to the lost and found bin. 2 Medical Note. In the case of your child being injured or sick that might limit their participation, please send a note. News. If your child has any important news please share it with me. Not only will this help with learning but it will help me to connect with your children as people. Open-Door Policy. Engatoff we strive for your child to be involved in 150 minutes of Physical Education every week. Skillful Movement: enhance quality of movement by understanding, developing, and transferring movement concepts, skills, tactics, and strategies to a wide variety of movement activities. Utilization. We are working towards performing skills at a utilization level. Water. It is important to stay hydrated after being physically active. I will ensure your child receives a water break following his or her Phys. Ed. class. Volunteer. Feel free to come and participate and share a physical skills/passion with us anytime! eXperience. Kids come to Phys. Ed. class with varying abilities. I will ensure your child will see success. Your help and encouragement is needed to promote a positive and healthy lifestyle. Do your best to play with your child each and every day. ZZZZ’s. Kids need lots of sleep. And expect them to be tired at the end of the day – they work hard in school and need to recharge their batteries.
