2 3-ring binder Divider pages Tabs Time cards 5 grading sheets 3 observation forms Journal rubric Paper

4 Use the binder provided by the teacher No three-prong/Duo-Tang folders Only the items for your journal should be in the binder Binders must be kept with you NOT stored in the classroom!! Label your binder with your name, class period and group number

5 Use any of the following to make your divider page: Construction Paper Oak Tag Store-purchased divider page Please do not use: Card stock from the classroom supplies Label the divider page with the type of information that will be behind it

6 Should be placed on every divider page Should be staggered so that they are seen over every page Should state what each section is (Ex. Time cards, Theme for the week) Should have the beginning and ending date for the week Should state the job you did for the week Should be permanent

7 Change minutes to hours Filled in daily Signed by Mrs. Stough or a second year student daily File in chronological order Totaled weekly All areas of information should be completed in full Record only the times that you actually worked on CCNS activities DO NOT fill out ahead of time!!

8 Grade yourself daily during teaching, observing, cooking, and specials Use the rubrics found in the wooden boxes Read each grading criteria carefully Grade yourself honestly Be sure to total your grade

9 Use a different observation sheet everyday Observe for 10 minutes…NO LONGER Sit in an area of the classroom where you will not interfere with the lesson Do not interact with the toddlers Observe 2 different children and 1 teacher Use 20 minutes of your class period to work on your lesson plans, portfolio, or the assignment given by the teacher for the day Use the remainder of the class period to write your observation paragraphs

10 Located in wooden boxes Complete top 4 lines and the “Student Grade” column before turning in Read each item to be graded carefully Place directly after the divider page for the week to be graded

11 One day’s summary on each page If you are absent or miss class for another reason put the date on the page and write the reason for your absence under the date using a marker Teaching and specials summaries should include the following: what you taught that day, who did what, the toddlers’ reactions, positive things that happened, and problems you encountered Observation summaries should include the following: what you learned about the child - remember to get in their head! Cooking summaries should include the following: what you made for the day, who did what, the toddlers’ reaction to the food, and what you would do differently
