We want to provide a great experience for our players and this requires that many people participate. When available and when opportunities present themselves, we ask that you volunteer to assist as you are able. Accountability Help us in teaching your son about the importance of dependability and being accountable by reinforcing the message that all practices are mandatory and are only excused by a doctor’ note. A player’s practice time will be affected if they are unexcused for a practice. If there is an emergency, Coach Yonchiuk will need to be notified before practice and we ask that appointments are made during school not practice time. Also, physicals need to be completed prior to the season starting and LHS provides free physicals twice each year. Open Communication Communicate with the coaches at the proper time regarding any concerns. Make sure to inform the coaching staff and training staff of any injuries as soon as they occur and make sure that you follow the proper protocol. Please respect the chain of command by discussing concerns with the Coach Yonchiuk first.

17 We understand that you can not assume that young men have any knowledge of leadership and that it is a skill that must be taught. We must empower them to be leaders by providing them with information and then create the circumstances and opportunities for leadership to be developed. Coaching Players to be Leaders Leadership is Influence – If you have the power to “influence” then it can be used for good or for bad! Developing good leadership begins with a trust that is built between the coach and the leader. Great leaders gain personal value from impacting others in a positive way. True leadership is exposed when things are NOT going well.
