3 Newspaper Articles and Editorial Directions: You will be writing 3 newspaper articles and 1 editorial about events leading up to, during and after the Crusades. You will be assigned one of the following cities: Constantinople, Jerusalem, or London. Each perspective is very different from one another in regards to the Crusades. The 3 newspaper articles should be 2-3 paragraph summary each about a specific event during the crusades and an illustration to go with each. The editorial is an opinionated article influenced by someone living in that region (Letter to the Editor) Due Date: Friday May 9 th

Perspective: Beginning of the Crusades in the hands of the Turkish Muslims (1099-1187 C.E.) in the hands of the Crusaders (1187-1291 C.E.) in control of the Turkish Muslims Saladin (brilliant military leader) Site of the Holy Land War (constant warfare)

6 London (England) 1095-1291 C.E. Perspective: On the side of the Crusaders the whole time Pope Urban II and King Richard I (England) In favor of entering the Holy Lands Christians (Peasants and Knights recruited to make the journey to fight in the Crusades)
