2 William Bradford An important leader in the community of Plymouth. Guided the Pilgrims as they worked together to build houses. He made sure the fields were planted. Signed the Mayflower Compact

3 Anne Hutchinson Puritan woman who spoke out against the government forced to leave Massachusetts because of religious views. Believed that a person's own faith in God was more important than the church's rules and laws - Moved to Rhode Island.

5 John Winthrop the Puritan leader who sailed from England to North America in 1630 and settled in the Massachusetts Bay Colony
