1 Cell Analogies Winnie the Pooh By Mary and Becca C period

2 Mitochondria – Honey Honey is like the mitochondria because the honey gives Pooh energy(power) and the mitochondria is the power house of the cell.

3 Cell membrane – Christopher Robin
The cell membrane controls what enters and exits the cell, like how Christopher Robin influences what happens in the 100 acre woods.

4 Chromosomes – All characters
Chromosomes contain genetic information and all the characters in Winnie the Pooh are given unique characteristics (or genes) by the author.

5 Cell wall – 100 acre woods The cell wall is the large supporting wall around the cell membrane, like how the 100 acre woods is the boundary for the characters in Winnie the Pooh.

6 Nucleus – A. A. Milne The nucleus is the control center of the cell, like how A.A Milne controls and knows everything that happens in the 100 acre woods.

7 Cytoplasm – Rabbit’s Garden
The cytoplasm is where proteins are assembled, like how Rabbit’s Garden grows carrots, which are the “proteins.”

8 Chloroplast – Winnie the Pooh
Winnie the Pooh is like the chloroplast because the chloroplasts are organelles that capture energy from sunlight and convert it to chemical energy, and Pooh turns the negative energy from the story into positive energy.

9 Vacuoles- Honey Pot The vacuoles are saclike structures that store materials in a cell and the honey pot stores Pooh Bears honey.

10 Cytoskeleton – Eeyore’s Tail ________
Eeyore’s tail is like a cytoskeleton because the characters in Winnie the Pooh try and help Eyeore’s tail stay on and in a cytoskeleton a network of protein filaments help the cell maintain its shape.

11 Golgi Apparatus – Pooh’s house
Pooh’s house is like the Golgi apparatus because it store all of his honey, and the Golgi apparatus is where materials from the ER are stored.
