(jogtörténeti vizsgálat) 2.(Legal regulation) Examination the legal regulation of certain European (+USA) countries related to topic (e.g. confrontation, polygraph) as well as the recommendations on crime-solving tactics typical of the specific countries and the basic differences between the continental and the Anglo- Saxon models. (az egyes európai (USA) országok szabályozásának vizsgálata)

9 3.(ECtHR, Curia, Constitutional Court) Taking into account and analysing the decisions of ECtHR related to topic (e. g. confrontation or polygraph) as well as the related guidelines of the Hungarian Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court. (az Emberi Jogok Európai Bírósága, Kúria, AB döntések vizsgálata) 4.(Case documents) Empirical research findings resulted from the criminal records. (hundreds of case documents, hundreds of e.g. confrontations) (bűnügyi iratok empirikus vizsgálata)

10 5.(Empirical examination) Presenting or analysing with detailed tables the data gained from the extensive survey I carried out among the staff of law enforcement bodies (judges, prosecutors, barristers, police officers) and the accused (sentenced criminals). (together: almost 1000 /868/ persons) (empirikus vizsgálat bírák, ügyészek, ügyvédek, nyomozók, terheltek körében)

11 6.(Literature) Expounding and examining the standpoints related to topic (e.g. confrontation, polygraph) in national and international theories and specialized professional literature both from the point of view of criminalistics (forensic science) and criminal procedure law. (hazai és külföldi büntető eljárásjogi és kriminalisztikai szakirodalmak vizsgálata)

14 The most important part: Ad 7. Results, statements, conclusions, and recommendations for the: a) legal theory (jurisprudens) b) legislation (lawmakers) c) legal adaption (for practice, for practioners, legal representatives, law enforcements, e.g. policemen)

16 Ad 5. – publications: 1. All parts of the thesis should be publish during the preparing in various periodicals 2. It has to be published in the widest sphere as possible (on conferences, in university periodicals, legal-criminalistical journals, etc.)

17 VI. The process of evaluation of the dissertation

18 Ad VI. Evaluation: The passing process of the dissertation can be divided into the following 4 phases: 1.Passing of a candidate on a special examination at the university the so called ‘PhD comprehensive examination’ comprising of two subjects – taken in front of an external committee 2. debating of the thesis at the candidate’s workplace (university) 3. open evaluation process (public evaluation) 4. the decision of the university’s Doctoral Committee.

19 VII. The publicity of the dissertation

20 Ad VII. publicity 1. invitation all experts (domestic and foreign professors, law enforcements) for the public evaluation, 2. invitation of the written and electronic press, 3. invitation of editors of professional journals, 4. preparing an abstract (with many copies) of the thesis in English as well 5. the thesis should be published in a monographic form in a short time after its valuation/acceptance Ad VII. publicity 1. invitation all experts (domestic and foreign professors, law enforcements) for the public evaluation, 2. invitation of the written and electronic press, 3. invitation of editors of professional journals, 4. preparing an abstract (with many copies) of the thesis in English as well 5. the thesis should be published in a monographic form in a short time after its valuation/acceptance
