2 Present Perfect Tense Already/Yet Already is used in affirmative statements, yet is used in negative statements ex: I have already finished my homework. Subject + have/has+already+pp+object ex. I have finished my homework already. Already can also go at the end of the sentence. What have you already done?

3 Yet We expected something to happen, and it hasn’t happened. It might happen in the future. ex: I haven’t finished my homework yet. Subject+have/has+pp+obect+yet (always put ‘yet’ at the end of a sentence) I haven’t learned to speak Spanish yet. What haven’t you done?

4 Already: Questions Already: Show surprised Have you already finished your homework? Has she already finished level 8? Have they already found five fish? You try!

5 Yet: Questions Yet: Has something happened until now Have you learned to speak Spanish yet? Answer: No, not yet Or Answer: No, I haven’t Answer: Yes, I have Have you registered for next term yet? Have you completed the ESOL program yet?

6 Already/Yet Indefinite past time: we don’t know (or its not important) when the event occurred in the past, but it is still important today. We don’t know when this action took place, but it happened in the past and is still true today.
