Before Entering Kindergarten, Your Child Should: Personal and Social Development Be self-sufficient—buttons, zippers, in the bathroom etc. Listen with understanding to one and two-step directions

Before Entering Kindergarten, Your Child Should: Language and Literacy Write his/her name Match and identify uppercase and lowercase letters Read, read, read!

Preschool/Kindergarten Transitions Phase 1- Implementation of transition to get the preschool students adjusted to routine. [November-January] Phase 2- More kindergarten exposure each week. [February and March] Phase 3- Preschool students with kindergarten teachers for direct instruction and vice versa. [April and May]

Preschool/Kindergarten Transitions To ensure kindergarten readiness, preschool students have been going to the kindergarten classrooms twice a week for 20-30 minutes during the second semester. During April and May, the preschoolers will go to a specific kindergarten teacher. If you have a teacher preference, let the office know so we can try to accommodate that request.

How do I get my child registered? To start school in the fall we need from you: Kindergarten registration packet filled out Immunizations- record of up-to-date immunizations Copy of birth certificate Proof of residency Social Security Number Vision and Hearing Screenings
