24 Geek Squad Geek Squad (MS240) –Help NHS with troubleshooting tech issues and assisting with technology. Students are evaluated on responsibility, attendance, work ethic, and completion of daily assignments. This course is for elective credit. Students will be assigned a letter grade.

29 NIWOT HIGH SCHOOL Athletics / Activities We encourage ALL of our students to get connected with NHS by getting involved in athletics, clubs or activities. Clubs and Activities: See NHS website Community Service Leadership

30 SPORTS AT THE COLLEGE LEVEL If you are planning to compete in sports at the college level, you must meet NCAA eligibility requirements. http://eligibilitycenter.org *Not all high school courses are NCAA approved. See the NHS website for more information.

31 PE Waivers Participation in one (1) SVVSD athletic program at the high school level =.5 credit waiver Participation in 72 hours of an appropriate, pre-approved structured and supervised physical activity during an 18 week period outside of the school district =.5 credit waiver Successfully completing two different sports, the same sport for two seasons, or a combination of the above criteria will allow students to waive a maximum of 1.0 physical education credit. The activities to waive physical education credit may be met during any of a student’s four years of high school. Whether or not a student has received a physical education waiver, they are still required to successfully complete 24.5 credits in order to earn their high school diploma. See SVVSD Board Policy IKF-R for more details PE Waivers are only for students who, due to a rigorous academic course load, can not fit a PE course into their schedule. A maximum of 2 of the 4 PE courses required for graduation can be waived when specific criteria are met. The credit from those courses are not waived, just the requirements. 24.5 or more credits are still required for graduation when a PE Waiver is approved.

32 Completing Your Registration Form Fill out Registration Form completely. All boxes should be filled. List elective requests in priority order in the boxes on the lower half of your form. Circle FOUR additional elective requests on the back of your course request form. Get a parent / guardian signature. Enter your requests on Infinite Campus through the Academic Planner. Next THURSDAY, February 11 th, bring your form back to Sunset Middle School.

35 Confirm your course selection by circling the class. Write in the correct math and world language request. Make sure you include full-year courses Must have parent signature! IMPORTANT: Fill out elective section completely!

38 Academic Planner /Online Registration In this field, choose “Graduation Requirements” In this field, choose “In-State” or “Out-of-State” In this field, choose the plan from the drop- down menu that best fits your plans after high school

40 Click on the box for each subject. Use the drop down menu to select courses. Make sure to select both semesters for full year courses

41 Add all courses that you’ve listed on your registration form

43 If you add a course for which you’ve not met the pre- requisite, it will show up in red

44 Saving your Academic Plan Plan will not save unless the course in red is corrected

45 Now that the course was corrected, the plan will save. Don’t worry about the other messages regarding Course Requirements. Just make sure that it states “Course Plan was saved” at the top

46 Click on the box for each subject. Use the drop down menu to select courses. Make sure to select both semesters for full year courses
