Adequate lighting Pencil sharpeners PA or CCTV working Clear walls of posters (or cover them). Desks cannot face each other during testing. Make sure there is adequate space between desks for testing.

4 Spring 2008 Materials for Training Test AdministratorsSlide 4 Electronic Device Policy Have students leave their belongings at the front (or any designated area) of the room. Electronic devices are NOT permitted during testing. Possession of such devices (even if the device is turned off) IS cause for invalidation. This includes cell phones, iPods®, and electronic games The Florida Department of Education defines possession as “within arm’s reach”, even if the electronic device is not visible. Electronic devices should NOT be placed on desks, pockets, clipped to belts or anywhere that can be easily accessible.

Every student/teacher member has an assigned room/area. If you are not proctoring in your room: please do not lock your door, Bring board marker or pen with you. Make sure desks are spaced apart adequately No desks are facing each other

Before test begins: Seat students by alpha Verify ID – send students with no ID to SCIENCE OFFICE (Rm. 279) NO Electronic devices allowed during testing – they must be turned off and out of sight. Passing out materials Hand each item to student – do not allow students to hand out items to other students Record all security numbers prior to beginning of test

19 Spring 2008 Materials for Training Test AdministratorsSlide 19 Supervise Test Administration  During testing, ensure that students: clear their desks of all materials except the appropriate test materials use only No. 2 pencils do not have books, notes, scratch paper, or electronic devices even if they do not use them during the test do not disturb others work independently mark their answers in the appropriate area  Do NOT: talk with students about any test item look through test books help students answer any test item discuss test items or answers with students even after all test materials have been returned and testing has ended INAPPROPRIATE ACTIONS MAY = INVALIDATION AND/OR LOSS OF TEACHING CERTIFICATION

ACCOMODATIONS INCLUDE: Extended time Approved dictionaries (for ESOL) Test directions may be clarified but the proctor is prohibited from reading the prompt. Accommodations must match IEP (for SPED) Must paper clip sessions so that students do not return to previous sessions. Your relief proctor will continue to check in with you about the status of students requiring more time. Students have until 2PM to finish.

21 Spring 2008 Materials for Training Test AdministratorsSlide 21 Test Invalidation Policies and Procedures If a student is caught cheating, is disruptive during testing or becomes sick and cannot finish the test: 1.Notify Relief proctor and fill out form. Student will be escorted from room. 2.Grid only the DNS bubble for the appropriate test or portion of the test. Answer Document Containing One Test Answer Document Containing Two Tests There is one DNS bubble and one UNDO bubble for each of the tests in an answer document.

22 Spring 2008 Materials for Training Test AdministratorsSlide 22 Schedule of Events on Test Days March 11 & 12 NINTH GRADE Will test until approximately 11:30am Materials will be collected and accounted for Snacks will be distributed to students in their test rooms. We will wait for 10 th graders to finish There will be ONE Lunch at approx.12:45 After lunch, students and teachers will return to their FCAT test rooms for the remainder of the day.

23 Spring 2008 Materials for Training Test AdministratorsSlide 23 Schedule of Events on Test Days March 11 & 12 TENTH GRADE BREAK between sessions (10 th grade ONLY) At approximately 10:30, there will be a break between sessions. Snacks will be delivered to your rooms. Collect ALL test materials when prompted, distribute snacks, ask students to eat their snacks INSIDE the room. They may leave to use restroom. DO NOT LEAVE TEST MATERIALS UNATTENDED Once students are back inside rooms, Instructions will begin again to resume testing. Test will end at approximately 12:15 Once materials are collected and accounted for, students and teachers will be dismissed for lunch – please wait for the announcement. Lunch time estimate: 12:45 – 1:15 After lunch, students and teachers will return to their FCAT test rooms for the remainder of the day.

There will be ONE lunch - we have to wait until Science is done (approx. 12:45) A determination regarding the schedule for the remainder of the day will be made after the Science test is complete.

A determination about the schedule for the rest of the day will be made at that point
