2 Executing Right Turns Approach as far RIGHT as possible Keep near to the curb or parked vehicles Do not swing outward or into other lane

3 Right Turn on Red A motorist is unable to make a right turn at a red light when there is a sign posted stating “No Turn on Red” NJ Law authorizes a right turn on red light after a motorist: 1.Comes to full stop 2.Checks for traffic 3.Yields to pedestrians

4 Left Turns Executing a Left Turn -Yield to oncoming traffic -Do not cross center line -Approach the turn as close as possible to the line nearest the center of the road -Turn into the lane nearest the center part of the road

5 Steering Left Hand – 9 o’clock Right Hand – 3 o’clock Your grip should be firm but not too tight.

9 Parking Regulations DOWNHILL When parking facing downhill, turn your front wheels towards the curb. This will keep the vehicle from rolling into traffic if the brakes become disengaged. UPHILL Turn the steering wheel to the left so the wheels are turned away from the curb if you are facing uphill. The tires will hit the curb if it rolls backward.

10 Seat Belts All occupants must wear a seat belt. The driver is responsible for passengers under the age of 18. Front seat passengers 18 and older are responsible for themselves. Now a PRIMARY offense for front seat occupants. SECONDARY offense for back seat occupants. (Back seat occupant can be issued the summons). Seat Belts help to: -Keep motorist from being thrown from vehicle -Slow body down -Keep body from sliding during sudden stops or turns

11 Car Seats Child car seats should be placed in the rear of the vehicle when possible. An infant seat should face the rear of the vehicle.
