3 About Benazir Bhutto 1. Family: Father: Zulfikar Ali Bhutto (1928-1979)  Founder of the Pakistan People's Party  Prime Minister of Pakistan (1973 until 1977)  Overthrown by “General Zia ul-Huq”  Charged with murder of Kasuri, an opponent politician, and hanged to death.  An important figure in Benazir’s life

7 3. Career  In 1982 Benazir Bhutto was elected as Peoples Party's Chairwoman.  She was ellected to be the Prime Minister of Pakistan twice:  1988 to 1990  1993 to 1996  She was removed from her position due to corruption charges against her and her husband.  Exile to the UAE.
