Honors Placement English, History, and Science: ELA Placement Test (Advanced) 3.6 GPA (A-) in each academic area “5 grading periods: (3-A’s & 2-B’s)”

9 MATH PLACEMENT Math Placement is based on the following criteria (Students must meet both criteria): Grades and Math Placement test given in March: Algebra: All A’s and greater than 95% on the Pre-Algebra Readiness Placement test and greater than 80% on the Algebra Readiness Placement test. Math 7H: 3 A’s 2 B’s and greater than 90% on the Placement test Math 7 +Support: A’s and B’s and above 80% or higher on the Placement test Math 7: C’s and below and 79% and below on the Placement test Math 7 Basic: Based on student need

Sports Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA and have no “U’s” in citizenship The sport’s program within OUSD is restarting and we hope to have a league next year. After-school sports are offered each quarter: Fall: Boy’s and Girl’s basketball Winter: Boy’s Flag football and Girl’s volleyball Spring: Boy’s and Girl’s soccer and Track and Field

21 ATTENDANCE POLICY Make perfect attendance your child’s goal
Call El Rancho to report absences Unexcused absences—students may turn in work for partial credit at the teacher’s discretion. Students will be allowed to make up all work and assessments for an excused absence. SART (School Attendance Review Team) for excessive absences and tardies.

22 Excused Absences UNEXCUSED ABSENCES
Excused absences are enumerated under California Education Code 48205, and include the following reasons: Illness, medical appointments, funeral services, and justifiable personal reasons. El Rancho English Language Arts & Math Placement Exams Thursday, March 17th 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19th 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 22nd 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. -These are make up dates for missed exams Olive, Nohl, Inter-District, and Open Enrollment MUST attend one of these sessions. Canyon Rim will hold a test next Wednesday

29 Drop-off & pick-up We strongly recommend picking-up and dropping off students in the following locations: Santa Ana Canyon Drop-off El Rancho Parking Lot We DO NOT recommend: Hibachi Parking Lot Big Lots Parking Lot For safety reasons, please DO NOT allow students to loiter in these parking lots before or after school, especially on minimum days.

53 What is AVID? AVID is an academic, regularly scheduled elective class based on writing as a tool of learning, inquiry method, collaborative grouping, organizational skills, and reading strategies. WICOR! The three main components of the program are: academic instruction tutorial support motivational activities
