RTF Management Update Jennifer Anziano Regional Technical Forum June 16, 2015

Topics for Today NC ENERGY STAR Multifamily QC Updates – Res Clothes Washer – SF Existing Home HVAC and Weatherization Enhanced RCP Upcoming subcommittee and meeting topics 2

New Construction ENERGY STAR Multifamily Measure Background: In August 2012, the RTF approved the NW ENERGY STAR Multifamily Home UES measure as Proven, Active with a sunset date of October 1, 2017 (or upon substantive change to state energy codes) When entering in database, the sunset date was entered as October 2014 In October 2014, the RTF changed the measure status Under Review and extended the sunset date to August 2015 to give time to pursue new SEEM MF calibration Question: Original intention was to not revisit measure until October 2017 or until a substantive change in the energy codes, yet the RTF will be revisiting the question of MF calibration soon Do we want to keep the existing sunset date, OR correct the error in database by extending sunset date until October 2017? 3

QC Updates – Res Clothes Washers Three errors found during QC 1.RMC in clothes should not have embedded waste water energy associated with it 2.Lifetime was incorrect (14 instead of 14.2) 3.CEE Tier 2 min IMEF was incorrect (2.76 instead of 2.74) Also a cell reference error in the lookup table – Correction does not change results, but does correctly match results to the right measures 4

5 QC Updates – Res Clothes Washers

Another Error Found in Wx & HVAC SEEM Runs #9: Prototype weightings – Rows mixed up between FAF and Zonal Houses. (Thank you to Bob Tingleff for finding this error.) Changed savings for FAF and Zonal measures. HP measures unaffected. – DHP’s Savings fluctuated by 5% or less – Weatherization Electric FAF – Savings fell by an average of 10% – Range: reduction of 24% to reduction of 1% Zonal and DHP – Savings increased by an average of 10% – Range: Reduction of 5% to increase of 30% – Performance-based Duct Sealing for Electric Forced Air Furnaces Savings fell by about 10% Updated measure workbooks are posted to the measure web pages

Changes to Cost-Effectiveness (DHP and Duct Sealing unchanged) Changed for some weatherization measures

Enhanced RCP RTF is about ready to release its annual RCP survey This year we will be seeking measure/end use level data (rather than sector level) – This is the same data provided to the Six Going on Seven project previously Continue to report utility data at the sector level, allowing for a review period 9
