3 Monday, August 4 th Welcome to Campbell High School! CHS Map: Step 1 : Color each one of your classes a different color {Do NOT use YELLOW!}– total of 4 colors!! Step 2 : Color the following locations YELLOW : * Cafeteria * Attendance Office / Nurse * Media Center * Main Office * Wills Gym * Counseling Offices There are colored pencils on the table by the door if you do not have any. Please share with the people around you if you have some!

4 What is the fastest way to get to each class??? Step 3: Starting with Block 1, route the quickest way to Block 2 by drawing the route on your map using the same color you used to color in Block 1. Do the same thing for your other 3 blocks…

5 CHS Map: Step 4 : Make a map key in the bottom right corner. {Four Blocks & Important Locations} Step 5 : Draw a Compass Rose on your map Step 6 : Title your map MAP KEY 1 st Block (Class & Teacher’s Name) 2 nd Block (Class & Teacher’s Name) 3 rd Block (Class & Teacher’s Name) 4 th Block (Class & Teacher’s Name) Important Locations Use the colors you used!

7 Opener: Tuesday, 8/5 On your own sheet of notebook paper copy what’s in black EXACTLY: Name Block # 1 Opener: 8/5 Imagine you are a filmmaker and you were given the opportunity to make a documentary of your choice. If you could film anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? What types of people/places would you film? ANSWER THE QUESTIONS IN COMPLETE SENTENCES. RESPONSE MUST BE IN 3-5 CS (COMPLETE SENTENCES)!! EVERY assignment will be numbered!!

8 MAP KEY Landforms Waterforms Deserts Mountains Capitals Political Maps: Each country/state MUST be a different color, no two colors may touch. ALL MAPS must be labeled in PEN and colored in COLORED PENCIL! Physical Maps: Physical maps should only be colored in these 4 colors!!

23 Longitude The Prime Meridian is located at 0°. It is neither east or west. WE Lines of longitude WEST of the Prime Meridian to 180 ° are labeled with a W. Lines of longitude EAST of the Prime Meridian are labeled with an E. Lines of longitude begin at the Prime Meridian.

24 By combining latitude and longitude, we can pinpoint any location on Earth.

26 Determine the latitude and longitude of the locations on the map below. Each latitude and longitude MUST be entered with a single space between the degrees and the N, S, E or W…For example, "10 W". The N, S, E and W must be capitalized. Latitude Longitude
