3 Where are we now? New MCCN site went live in September 08 ~1000 new pages of patient information Database of support groups Links to local hospitals & organisations Latest cancer news from the online media

18 New developments… Currently testing an online discussion forum Allows people to log on, have conversations & discuss various topics Limited to particular professional groups at this time – may expand to patients if the demand is there Won’t work without visitors & support!

21 Social Networking Social network = Online community of people who share common interests Huge number of people using sites such as Facebook and Youtube Much wider demographic than many think Already being trialled by organisations such as Macmillan and Cancer Research UK
