How did we break the mould 1.NHS committed to First Response/Acute care restructure 2.LA/Police invited to be a partner 3.CCC format set up 4.CCGs, Hospital Trusts & Vol sector brought on board 5.Whole system approached developed

The Sanctuary at Mind Referral The Sanctuary provides a safe space for adults experiencing mental distress. Gatekeeping by Crisis service Opening hours: Monday-Sunday 6pm- 1am

Outcomes so far … From May 18 th to 7 th Nov 2015 396 visitors First responders have only needed to come out on 6 occasions Working with two of the top five frequent attenders at A&E in Bradford No one has accessed out of area beds 85% of 338 visitors stated that they would have gone to A&E as nowhere else to go

The next steps CCG impact evaluation Applied for £100,000 of added value investment VHSF & LSF to develop staff & volunteers in community development & build community resilience Peterborough & Cambridge Mind interested in duplicating model
