5. Type in Password, select Type of OB, OB time and country of recruitment, then click OK

6. Fill in all data possible and save

7. Restart the program to insert the saved data

8. Select Email Settings

9. Fill out information required, the outgoing SMTP information can be acquired by the Ship/Company IT, or leave instructions to fill out that portion. Recipient email address should be shipobs@noaa.gov -- remember to click save.

10. Click on the crew or captain button

11. Add captain and crew in log book. Or at least one officer, ask them to add others as needed

12. When setup is complete, the background changes to the VOS logos

13. Walk through sections and ensure That they are set correctly to what Equipment the ship has and methods used.

14. The maintenance section is also where the log files are downloaded and sent. You may set up the email address in this section, where they are sent to. You or into Eric. Your choice. You may also inport the PUB 47 Data, if you have an internet link.

15. Once they start sending OBS, the back ground changes, and shows their track of positions and observations.
