SUCCESSFULLY PREPARING ALL STUDENTS FOR THEIR FUTURES 12033 SE 256 TH STREET, KENT, WA 98030 | WWW.KENT.K12.WA.US ATTENDANCE OPTIONS Elementary school students are scheduled into English Language Arts, Math, Homeroom, Physical Fitness and Music (Band or Orchestra) The only elementary school course that takes attendance is Homeroom Homeroom is listed twice so it is possible to mark half-day absences but you only need to take attendance for your Homeroom class once at the beginning of the school day If a student is missing from your attendance roster or included and should not be, then talk to the school data processor to correct the problem

SUCCESSFULLY PREPARING ALL STUDENTS FOR THEIR FUTURES 12033 SE 256 TH STREET, KENT, WA 98030 | WWW.KENT.K12.WA.US ATTENDANCE OPTIONS - CONTINUED Attendance is taken from Educator Access – Teacher Access – Post Daily Attendance You can take attendance by name or by seating chart The seating chart option will display student pictures if they are available By default all students are present and you mark the ones that are absent or tardy If a student has been marked absent by the office, it will show up in your attendance roster and you cannot change it When you save, it updates the student records in Skyward An absence entered by a teacher will display with a W until it is updated by the attendance office to E for excused or U for unexcused
