Smartphones with Windows TM Mobile software integrate computer functionality into telephone handsets. These devices are comparable in size to today's mobile phones. Along with great phone functionality, smartphones provide rich data experience and the ability to connect to a desktop or notebook, browse the Web, send Instant Messages (IM), and synchronize e-mail with an Exchange server. Topics in this guide include: Change Your Smartphone Profile Use Conference Calling Smartphone Status Indicators Connect a Wireless Bluetooth Headset Connect Your Smartphone to the Internet Use the Global Address List Force Keypad Lock Enter Text with Your Smartphone Troubleshooting Change Your Smartphone Profile Each profile contains customizable settings for sound types and volume. Instead of changing various settings manually such as ring type and ring volume, you can change the profile. Use Conference Calling You can create conference calls for you and two other parties. Click Start, and then on the Start page click Settings. On the Settings page, click Profile. On the Profiles page, click the profile you want, and then click Done. 1 2 3 Notes To customize a profile, on the Profiles page, highlight a profile, click Menu, and then click Edit. Make the desired changes and click Done. Click Automatic profile and your phone switches from the Normal profile to the Meeting profile during meetings on your Outlook calendar. From the phone keypad, dial the first number. 1

2 2 of 5 When you have connected, click Menu, and then click Hold. Dial the second number or click Menu, click Contacts, and then click a contact. 3 3 of 5 Connect a Wireless Bluetooth Headset For hands-free operation, use a Bluetooth wireless headset with your Smartphone. Click Start, and then on the Start page, click Settings. On the Settings page, click Connections, and then click Bluetooth. On the Bluetooth page, in the Bluetooth box, select On. Click Menu, and then click Devices. Note Your Bluetooth headset should be in "discoverable" mode. Consult your headset manual on how to enable this mode. On the Add Devices page, highlight your headset, and then click Next. In the Passkey box, type the passkey, click Next, and then click OK. Note The passkey can be found in the headset manual. On the Display Name page, if you prefer, edit the name of your headset, and then click Next. On the Services Page, verify the Hands Free check box is selected, and then click Done. 1 2 3 4 8 5 6 7 Use the Global Address List You can search the Global Address List (GAL) and add anyone to the contacts on your device. 1 2 3 4 Click Start, and then on the Start page, click Contacts. Click Menu, and then click Find Online. On the Find Online page, in the Find box, type the person’s name, e-mail address or office location. Click Find. Note If your search turns up more than 100 results, you will get a message notifying you that only 100 results can be displayed. Click OK. On the Find Online page, in the search results, highlight the person’s name and click View to see more information about the person. Connect Your Smartphone to the Internet To access your corporate e-mail account and the internet with your Smartphone, you need to configure a data connection. 4 4 of 5 On the home page of your device, click Outlook E-Mail, and then click New. Verify the cursor is in the To box, and click Menu, and then click Add Recipient. On the Contact page, click Menu, and then click Add to Contacts to add the person to your contacts list. 5 E-Mail Someone from the Global Address List 1 2 Click Menu, and then click Find Online. 3 4 5 On the Find Online page, in the Find box, type the recipients name, e-mail address, or office location. Click Find. If your search turns up more than 100 results, you will get a message notifying you that only 100 results can be displayed. On the Select a Contact page, in the search results, highlight the recipients name and click Select. Then proceed with drafting and sending your e-mail message. Synchronize your mobile device with your Exchange server to complete sending the e-mail message. 6 Note If Exchange ActiveSync is configured to send outgoing items immediately, step 6 will not be necessary. 5 5 of 5 Turn off Radio Transmitter Click Start, and then on the Start page click Settings. On the Settings page, click Connections. On the Connections page, click Wireless Manager. 3 1 2 4 On the Wireless Manager page, click Phone. Your wireless cell phone transmitter is turned off. You can not make or receive calls. Force Keypad Lock Enter Text with Your Smartphone Use the Smartphone buttons to enter special characters or effects. You can add regularly used words to the dictionary. Locking your Smartphone keypad when not in use is required. This prevents unintentional dialing and incorrect PIN attempts (After 5 incorrect PIN attempts, information on your Smartphone will automatically be erased). To lock the keypad, press and hold the red hang-up button. To unlock the keypad, click Unlock, and then press *. Troubleshooting For voice and server related issues, please contact your Mobile Operator. For IT Supported feature related issues, please contact your IT department.
