2 FOR TRAINING USE ONLY Honor – Duty – Respect Training Objective Tasks: –Identify situations in the barracks that may influence individual behavior and explain why. –Identify possible coping skills that will help cadets maintain personal values. –Define Honor, Duty, and Respect. Condition: 50-minute classroom training session Standard: Successful completion of Ethics in Action post- test and required essay 2

3 FOR TRAINING USE ONLY Honor – Duty – Respect Factual Information Small Groups In small groups, do the following: 1.Brainstorm a list of values that fits your group. (Examples: honesty, fairness, loyalty) 2. Report on a few values from your list. 3

4 FOR TRAINING USE ONLY Honor – Duty – Respect Applicability to Cadet Life Small Groups In small groups, discuss the following: 1.How does life in the barracks influence cadet values? (Does barracks life strengthen those values? weaken them? change them?) 2.How/why does this occur? Share your group’s ideas with the class. 4

You can use coping skills and should strive to be prepared to resist negative influences. Do the right thing even when it’s tough!
