Indirect Objects Review: –Direct objects follow a transitive verb –Direct objects answer the questions whom? or what? –Direct objects are NOUNS

Indirect Objects Indirect objects –The person or thing to which or for which the action is done –Comes between the verb and D.O. –Never in a prepositional phrase –May be compound –Answers the questions: to what? or to whom? for what or for whom?

Indirect Objects Example: –Pam gave me an orange. Pam = subject gave = verb orange = direct object to whom did she give the orange?? –me = indirect object
