What did you like about the Distance Learning experience? ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ I always enjoy the interaction between kids from different schools. Really liked the connection with other schools, great way to combine everyone's resources. Gives students a variety of different classes they might not be able to get. I always enjoy the looks on the students’ and staffs’ faces. They are very comfortable in this setting. The way instructors found individual time for students to answer questions. The new course we were able to pick up. The variety of things done in class (videos, virtual field trips etc.)

What did you dislike about the Distance Learning experience? ______________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ Nothing now that I have a fax machine that works =). This was my first time at this so really don't have any dislikes. Not able to adjust all volumes in new DL. Many times we could not hear Indian Lake. Also other teachers said we were too loud. I couldn’t adjust it. The amount of days they don’t connect. Some of the other schools cannot adjust their mics. We cannot hear glens falls students when they speak. We have our volume on max. we can hear the teacher until she walk away from her desk. Sometimes the system was down they had problems connecting on snow days. Hard to match up schedules with other schools, making it difficult to schedule classes. People not turning their cell phones off. Makes a code sounds, still and issue at some sites. Very distracting.

I always enjoy working with them. Very much, they always are helpful. 4. Did you feel comfortable calling the DL toll free number for technical support? All those who responded said,“Yes, I did.” Comments:

Were you satisfied with the assistance of the BOCES support team? If I needed some help - they were very helpful. Always. When I need something corrected, mailed or instruction they have always been there for me. Absolutely! 100% Thank you! All those who responded said,“Yes, I was satisfied.” Comments:

What changes would you offer to improve the DL program? ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ In the new DL room. I cannot control anything but incoming volume. I also have no instructions on some of the new equipment - smart board etc. just learned as I went along. The biggest problem we had is hearing students while speaking. Since we have had this new system there has been a lot less down time due to function of the system. Room upgrade: better picture on viewing screens. The ability to see students in teacher's classroom at the same time as teacher and/or document camera. More interaction between teacher, students, and schools. Contact the teachers and DL aides and go over the importance of reminding students to be careful of the microphones. Example: going through papers near the microphones and certain conversations. Aides and teachers try harder to make sure cell phones are totally off. Up date the equipment, I have old large box TV's

General Comments ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ Some classes had an abundance of days when we did not connect due to schedule changes at both schools. Some students suffered from the lack of a regular class schedule. Also some classes should offer an additional study or tutoring period. It's been a great year!
