2 Set Success Metric Targets Average weekly visits Average page views Number of products sold per week/month Number of new RSS feed subscribers per week Number of new newsletter/blog subscribers per week Social media metrics, (i.e., number of new followers per month) Number of average comments generated by blog posts or other site content

4 Bounce rate The percentage of single-page visits or visits in which the person left your site from the entrance (landing) page. Use this metric to measure visit quality A high bounce rate generally indicates that site entrance pages aren't relevant to your visitors. The more compelling your landing pages, the more visitors will stay on your site and convert.

5 Minimize Bounce Rates Tailor landing pages to each keyword and ad that you run. Landing pages should provide the information and services that were promised in the ad copy.

9 Analyze Traffic Sources Analyze the behavioral paths visitors take to get to a conversion. See which segments are driving traffic to your site and of those, which are also converting. Armed with this information you can start focusing on those channels that are performing the best.
