2 Overview – CLD Partnership The collection of data on community learning and development (CLD) activity. This is intended to provide indications of levels of participation in CLD across each of the three national priority areas: – Achievement through learning for adults (DD1) – Achievement through learning for young people (DD2) – Achievement through building community capacity (DD3+4 )

8 Youth Partnership Outcomes Young people are well developed personally, socially and emotionally, able to take responsibility and prepared for independent living. Increased access for young people to services and information when they need it. Increased uptake of opportunities to raise educational attainment, employability and life chances. Young peoples’ citizenship skills are increase; and opportunities for them to become involved in their local community is increased. Young people are actively involved in decision making that affects their local community.

15 CLD Strategy priorities Improved life chances for people of all ages, through learning, personal development and active citizenship; and Stronger, more resilient, supportive, influential and inclusive communities to improve our service and asset planning and share these responsibilities Empowerment – increasing the ability of individuals and groups to influence matters affecting them and their communities; Participation – supporting people to take part in decision-making; Inclusion, equality of opportunity and anti-discrimination – recognising some people need additional support to overcome the barriers they face; Self-determination – supporting the right of people to make their own choices; and Partnership – ensuring resources, varied skills and capacities are used effectively.
