1 Electricity By Anna Brynn

2 What is Electricity?  Electricity is the flow of electrical power or charge. It is both a basic part of nature and one of our most widely used forms of energy. Electricity is actually a secondary energy source, also referred to as an energy carrier. That means that we get electricity from other sources of energy, such as oil, coal, nuclear, or solar energy. These are called primary sources.

3 How is Electricity connected to Oil?  Petroleum is a type of oil. Without petroleum, the world would probably come to a screeching halt. Petroleum serves a lot of purposes for mankind, but the most important is probably the energy it provides us. Everyone knows that most cars run on gasoline, a fuel refined from crude oil, but the electricity in some homes across the United States is generated by petroleum as well. 4 Electricity  When you plug something into the wall, it seems clean enough. You don't see or smell any pollution, like you do with your car. But the pollution is there it just happens at the power plant. Most electricity is generated by burning coal and other fossil fuels. Every time you turn on the lights, you create a little pollution. Fossil Fuels

5 Easy ways to preserve Electricity  1) Turn off the lights around the house when you are not using them. 2) Use cloth bags when going shopping to replace plastic bags 3) Recycle your plastic bags instead of crushing the bottles and throwing them in the trash can.
