14 Mrs. Sandra Allen Head Teacher Diary Dates REMEMBER Well done That in line with South Gloucestershire’s policy I am unable to authorise leave of absence in Term 1 and 5. We are at the end of a very busy term and please remember that school starts on Thursday 3 rd September. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support this year and look forward to our continuing partnership in the coming years. A special thanks go to all the PTA members for all their hard work this year in organising fund raising and social events this year. During the school holidays we are installing a self locking gate on our Key Stage 2 entrance to ensure the safety of our children during the school day. The gate will be open from 8.40 until 9.10 in the morning and from 3.20 until 4.00 in the afternoon. If it is necessary to enter the school premises during any other time there will be an intercom system to the school office where Mrs Milkins or myself will be able to see, speak to and let you in. On entering the school premises please would you come to the school office and not to your child’s classroom. Our first Parent Council meeting will be on Wednesday 30 th September at 2.00pm. The focus of this meeting will be school reports with the view of redesigning them. This is open to all parents who showed an interest at the parents meeting last term. If you were unable to attend that meeting and would like to be involved please come along on the 30 th September or alternatively let me have your comments regarding school reports. At the beginning of next term I will be sending out a short survey of interest for a breakfast club. Interested?? Then please look out for this survey as every name counts, even if you do not need it every day. School Starts Thursday 3 rd Sept. There will be a display in the school hall in September. Stop Press Netball Match by Edward Grant, Jack Grant, Harry Hoare and Mylie Balkwill On Monday 13 th July Frenchay Foxes netball team played a friendly match against the Manor School. The match was very hard as the opposition were all Year 6 and very TALL!!! The team played really well, unfortunately the Manor beat us by 10 – 2. The 2 goals were scored by Natalie Sherman and Zoe Williams. We all came back with high spirits and will try to win the next time. To clarify Class 3 early morning routine next year please would all Year 3 children line up in Key Stage 2 playground and Year 2 in Key Stage 1 playground. All that is left is to wish you a good holiday, hope the sun shines and see you all in September. In the unlikely event that the school is advised to close for swine flu or not re-open in September, notification will be made through Bristol & GWR Radio, e-mail and the school website. If the school has been told to close for a period of time, work for the children to complete at home will be posted on the website under the child’s class. www.frenchayprimary.ik.org. Please ensure the office has your current mobile phone number as we are hoping to operate a text messaging system to contact you next year. www.frenchayprimary.ik.org
