8 Details about MuhammAd -was an Arab merchant from Mecca in Arabia. -Became very interested in religion. -He had contact with Jews and Christians.

9 Muhammad’s Vision At the age of 40, while meditating in a cave outside of Mecca, the Angel Gabriel spoke to him, and told him he was to be a messenger of God.

10 Holy book Qur’an written in Arabic, So the language Spread with Islam

12 Muhammad tries to spread his word -First in Mecca, but fails. He is forced to leave, his life was threatened! -Goes to Medina, and is successful, gains many followers.

14 What did Muhammad eventually do? He returned to Mecca with his “army” of followers, and was successful spreading Islam there in 630 AD.

15 632 ad Muhammad dies, but Islam had spread Across Arabia.
