1. Character Development Juliet: In these two scenes, Juliet becomes more rebellious, strong and independent in the fact that she is willing to practically disown her family name just so she can be with Romeo; her one and only love Nurse: The nurse does not have a significant role in these scenes however in Act 4 scene 3 she has come to agree with Lady Capulet and Capulet in the fact that Juliet should just do as her parents wish therefore her loyalty has changed to being more loyal to Juliet's parents than to Juliet. Capulet: During these scenes, Capulet continues to show his aggressiveness in the way of ordering everyone around knowing that no one wants to make him angry. He even says to Lady Capulet "A jealous-hood, a jealous-hood!" which shows that there is a conflict between him, and Lady Capulet because of his aggressiveness. Lady Capulet: Lady Capulet begins to show a more edgy side to her because she is in a way being disrespectful to Capulet by not agreeing with his every word which in this time period, is not acceptable in the societies eyes. These scenes also show Lady Capulet being a little more involved with Juliet by asking if she needs any help preparing for her wedding therefore demonstrating her being more kind and caring.

2. -Juliet grows further apart from her family and the nurse No joking around, Juliet becomes uptight. -she is betrayed and becomes unable to trust others “My dismal scene I needs must act alone” (pg__) Relationship development -The relationship between Romeo and Juliet is put to the test. How true their feelings are, courage, trust.

3. Romeo & Juliet Theme Development: In act 4 scenes 3 and 4 the themes have developed quite a bit for example, betrayal has many big factors in this play. Juliet betrayed her family and their name just so she could be with Romeo. Juliet also gets betrayed by the Nurse when she tells her to just forget about Romeo and marry Paris, the man her dad has picked out for her. During these scenes it is evident that Juliet is feeling alone and like she cant really trust anyone at all. Except for Friar Laurence because he really tries to help her be with Romeo. Another theme that is found in this play is how forceful love actually is, this can relate to both Romeo and Juliet and their relationship with their parents. Romeo and Juliet have only been together over the course of around 3 days and yet they feel like they are compelled to be together because of the force of love they cant stand to be away from each other. This also goes along with Juliet’s family because they are forcing her to “love” or marry Paris and if she doesn’t then her father said he wont ever talk to her again and he wont care if she dies in the streets. He is pretty much saying marry him or leave the family.

4. Romeo & Juliet Contrast: Life and Death The major contrast in this play is between life and death. In many ways death is the better option for both Romeo and Juliet because they cant stand not being with each other, they believe that even in death they wont be apart. Romeo would go to the ends of the world just to see or hear Juliet and she would do the same, they are star-crossed lovers and yet everything they do feels so right to them. When Romeo though that Juliet was dead she without a second thought killed himself just so that even in the end they could be together weather it was alive or dead, and when Juliet awoken she found her lover dead on the ground so naturally she did the same thing and killed herself. Romeo and Juliet’s love is childish and not very though out and in the end their emotions get the best of them. In all reality if anyone were to do this today they would be considered very weird.

5. Wedding dress- Control, Binding, Restraining, Shackle. Physically: Weight of the dress, tight corset. Dagger- Sacrifice, Pain, Despair. Juliet takes out a dagger as a back up for the potion. Represents her emotions Darkness- Death, Romance, Hidden possibilities/Unknown, Fate. Blind to what's happening, fate takes control. Symbolism

By drinking a vial of poison it is symbolic to the drastic measures and crazy things people do when in love. These scenes also give the purpose of demonstrating the strong and noticeable changes in some of the main characters such as Capulet; more of his character is shown and just how aggressive he can be to get his way but not only do these scenes show this but they also show how strict traditions and even religions were back in this time period.
