2 What did you learn? 1. What is a Mosaic? A Mosaic is a picture that is made up of tiny pieces colored glass and stones. And where were mosaics found in the Byzantine empire? Mosaics were found in churches and Monasteries through out the Empire.

3 What did you learn? 2. How did silk weaving develop in the Byzantine Empire? Byzantine traders were able to smuggle in silk worms from China and start their own silk industry.
