2. Session Purpose The purpose of this session is for participants to learn about and be able to use the range of tools, resources and information on the Management Support Online (MSO) website, and to complete a group activity which is available on the MSO site.

Session objectives Register for an MSO user ID and password (if not previously registered), & understand the terms & conditions Log in to MSO Understand the background of MSO Navigate through the resources & tools on MSO Carry out research using the MSO tools & resources Complete a training activity available on the MSO site, including a short, group presentation

4. What is MSO? Management Support Online (MSO) is a comprehensive suite of information, online skills development, tools and resources Aim of MSO is to provide resources which will help community and disability organisations improve their business processes and service delivery

5. Who can access MSO? The Queensland Management Support Online is FREE to non-government organisations in Queensland –This will continue until at least June 2009 –Registration is easy

6. What’s on the Community Door website? Dedicated MSO page on Community Door Link to the MSO site Quick link pages throughout the Community Door website that take you to the specific information on that page. e.g. financial management, governance or risk management

Registering to use MSO Follow the link on the MSO page on Community Door to go to the registration page Complete both steps of the MSO registration process Fields marked with a red asterisk * are mandatory Once you submit, an email with your username and password will be sent immediately to the email address you provided

Copyright and sharing MSO information Extract from the terms and conditions: –“ Registered Users are permitted to print a hard copy of any material on the MSO site for their personal use or use within their organisation. Materials that are provided with a ‘save and use’ option may be downloaded and modified or adapted for personal use or use within the Register User’s organisation provided that source identification contained in the footer of these materials is retained within the adapted or modified documents.”
