4. Suffrage for Women Suffrage: The right to vote. Elizabeth Cady Stanton & Susan B. Anthony: Early founders of the National American Woman Suffrage Association. The western states were the 1 st states to give women the right to vote.

5. The 19 th Amendment WWI helped women gain suffrage because women proved that they were important to their country by selling bonds, working in factories & being nurses in Europe. Nineteenth Amendment: Women’s suffrage passed in time for women to vote in 1920 presidential election.
