2 What is a Logical Fallacy? Logical Fallacy is generally an appeal to emotion, not intellect where: Lack of logic Logic is skewed/distorted Irresponsible or manipulative Takes advantage of audience’s emotions, blinds them to truth

3 Persuasive technique persuade emotionally but not necessarily manipulative: Logic is present with emotion Uses emotions to enhance truth vs. manipulate truth Persuasive techniques often found in advertising and public relations also typically: Promotes products using ethos/pathos/logos Shapes perception of organization, person, or brand What is a Persuasive technique?
