Objective: We will convert improper fractions to mixed numbers and mixed numbers to improper fractions.
Language Objective: We will use key words convert, mixed number, and improper fraction.

3. Vocabulary convert – to change from one form to another
mixed number – a whole number and a fraction
improper fraction – a fraction larger than one whole; the numerator is larger than the denominator

4. Mixed Numbers
A mixed number has a part that is a whole and a part that is a fraction. 3 1 = 4

5. Mixed Number → Improper Fraction
Multiply the whole number times the denominator
Add your answer to the numerator
Put that number over the denominator
