To Multiply fractions, you multiply their numerators and multiply their denominators. Example: 7 x 2 =14 Must reduce if possible:7/12

Answer: 1 5. ½ x 2/3 Answer: 1/3 6. ¾ x 2/5 Answer: 3/10

5 Multiplying Mixed numbers
Step one: change to improper fractions. (5x2+3=13) 13/5 (2x4+1=9) 9/2 Step 2: multiply fractions x 9 = 13x9= 117 x2= 10 Step 3: Reduce 11 7/10

6 More examples 3 4/9 x 2 ¼ Answer:7 ¾ 4 3/8 x 16 Answer: 70

7 What is 3/7 of 28? The word of means multiply! 3/7 x 28 3 x 28 7 1
3x28= 84 7 x 1= 7 Reduce: 84divided by 7 = 12
