(Do not just put “chemistry”)

Grading System Two Separate grades, one for each semester The semester grades will NOT be averaged together Grades will include: Assessments Final exam Quizzes Labs and other class activities Class work and homework

Assessments Assessments: 35% of your final grade Given at the end of a group of chapters Test corrections: Correct each question you missed Turn in ONE WEEK after you test are handed back A final will be given at the end of each semesters, EoCT will be given at the end of next semester as a final Both the Final and EoCT counts as 15% of your final grade each Will be cumulative

Labs and Activities Labs will be done fairly often throughout the next two semesters 25% of your final grade Lab write-ups will be turned in two days after the lab is completed Completed in groups—NO PLAGARISM Lab safety must be followed!!! Otherwise will result in an automatic zero Labs can not be made up Absences will result in an alternative assignment

Quizzes Quizzes will be given periodically throughout each section 10% of your final grade First one will be given on Friday Aug 6 th ! Over lab safety, rules, and equipment

Homework Home will be given EVERY night!!! 15% of your final grade Not collected until the day of the test at the beginning of class Will not be accepted at any other time Will have a chance to ask questions the day after it is given After that day, you will not be able to ask questions about it You will have to come in the mornings Grade: Completion Accuracy—I will pick one randomly

Attendance and Discipline Attendance is VITAL Email me for assignments but they will also be posted on my web page Test dates do not change!!! Test corrections are still due a week later Be respectful NO food or drinks except water!!!

Make-Up Work Assignments will be posted on my web site Email me if you need the assignments, notes, or have questions Make-up work is due the day after you are return (if it was due the day you were absent) Otherwise, it’s due twice the number of days missed after you return Late work is not accepted except at the discretion of the teacher!

Honor Code Your work should always be in your own words unless you use quotation Lab reports ALWAYS in your own words PLAGIRISM WILL NEVER BE TOLERATED!!! Results in a grade of zero for everyone

Verification Due on Aug. 6 th Will not be able to participate in a lab until its turned back in There are no extras, this is your only copy from me You can get extras off my web page if you print it yourself
