4 One-Stop Educational Division Aggressiveness Aggressive behavior- Action against others in order to reach your goals ignoring the feelings, desires, needs and rights of everybody else.

5 One-Stop Educational Division Characteristics of aggressive behavior: Intimidation- Threatens persons, commits extortion to bend the other person’s will Humiliation- to shake and break down another persons psychological, social and emotional integrity Manipulation- To use other peoples needs in order to get your own way Obstination- To try to impose your own will over everyone else no matter what the costs may be

6 One-Stop Educational Division Consequences People keep a safe distance away from aggressive persons Aggressive people tend to have a low self-esteem They develop health problems They hurt and mistreat the people they love

7 One-Stop Educational Division Passiveness The passive person ignores his own needs and doesn’t like confrontations on behalf of his own rights. He doesn’t express his feelings because he pre-supposes nobody really cares. He has a low self-esteem.

8 One-Stop Educational Division Characteristics of Passive Behavior To be quiet and not express feelings To shy away from aggressive persons and get easily intimidated Projects himself as an insecure and undecided person Avoids all possible rejection from others Procrastinates decision-making

9 One-Stop Educational Division Consequences Passiveness produces anxiety and a low self-esteem Produces episodes of depression Anger accumulates inside and the Passive person may have explosive episodes Frustration sets in because of unsatisfied needs They are not taken into account in decision-making situations

10 One-Stop Educational Division Assertiveness Assertive people communicate their feelings, ideas and wishes. They recognize their right to be heard and know when to say “no”. They reach their goals and have healthy relationships with others.
