5 Facts… She became deaf because of scarlet fever at the age of 19 months. It left her blind, deaf, and unable to speak. She Grew up at an estate called “ Ivy Green” She never really lived in one place after school. She traveled around the world, and became a world famous speaker.

6 More facts… As a child she was the target of bad humor, and tasteless jokes because of her handicaps. She greatly impacted all deaf and blind people all around the world by going around and speaking.
