10   Slavery continues throughout the 19 th century and into the start of the 20 th century  Slavery is only ended in 1917 when the US enters WWI because black soldiers are needed and must be given basic rights as citizens to fight EVENT TWO: Slavery drags on, abolished during WWI (1917)

13   The Civil Rights Movement of the 1960’s just simply does not happen  Small and very unsuccessful attempts are made by African- Americans to gain equality, usually resulting in death  John McCain becomes the 44 th President of the United States, as Barack Obama does not run EVENT THREE: Civil Rights Movement does not happen, Blacks are still facing extreme discrimination today

16   America is a very segregated country, with few opportunities for African-Americans. Recently, African-American groups have formed to participate in peace rallies to promote equality.  The country is still recovering from the economic depression of the Southern states, and is in constant recession. TODAY’S WORLD
