1 Close Reading and Creativity Assignment Follow-Up for “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell

2 Assignment  Using a white sheet and a pencil (at first), draw what “Ship-Trap Island” would look like from above.  Make sure the island is large enough for you to draw the items from the story in.  Draw the sea and other items around the island.

3 What to Include  The island  The boat  The rocky shore  The ocean  The “ship-trap”  Rainsford’s path  Death Swamp  All of the traps  The tree he slept in  Zarroff’s “palatial chateau”  Label all items  Arrange them in logical order and placement

4 Detailing and Polishing  The drawing should then be outlined in black ink and color should be added.  You will receive two grades based on: Logical placement of items Labels/captions for everything Drawn details Using color and dark ink to enhance visual quality.

5 Title/Heading  The title should be nicely written-- Map of Ship-Trap Island from “The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell Your heading should be in the upper right hand corner on the front.
