1 High School Common Exam Implementation Proposal Spring 2013 NHCS

2 Rationale  The proposed schedule is designed to parallel the secure and controlled manner in which end-of-course exams are delivered.  All stakeholders are confident that the data will accurately measure student learning.  Quality data for the newly-adopted teacher effectiveness model is collected.

3 Required Common Exams  Math: Geometry, Algebra II, Advanced Functions and Modeling, Pre Calculus  Science: Earth/Environmental Science, Physical Science, Chemistry, Physics  English: English/Language Arts I, English/Language Arts III, English/Language Arts IV  Social Studies: World History, Civics and Economics, U.S. History, American History I, American History II  Occupational Courses: OCS English/Language Arts I, III, IV, Introductory Math, Financial Math, Applied Science

4 Common Exams (CE) Schedule Concurrent with EOCs - Exam week May 31- June 5; Makeups June 6 and 7 Daily schedule May 31: 1 st period; June 3: 2 nd p; June 4: 3 rd p; June 5: 4 th p June 6 – 0 period and Makeups; June 7 Makeups CE Proctors None needed (Unless teacher of record administers assessment) CE Test Admin Subject area colleagues serve as test administrators. CE Scoring Test administrator scores assessments. Scoring occurs daily after early release. CE Scoring Training Next Scheduled Common Core PD early release day– Feb 15 Kim O’Briant is facilitating
