2 Why Gale Chose Google Google has sold over 5 million Chromebooks and has over 40 million Google Apps for Education users worldwide The actual student user count for Chromebooks is much higher, as many Chromebooks are shared between 2 – 3 students 94% of education professionals feel students demonstrate improved learning, performance and/or achievement when technology is integrated into the curriculum *AASL (national.aasl.org/make-the-case)

3 Once authenticated into Gale, users can sign in with gmail account. If a user is already signed into their gmail account, the Gale product will ask user to confirm credentials Revising In Context tools to map to Google Drive

8 How it Works… Step by step guide to using the Google Sign-in

9 Authenticate into your In Context product as you normally would At any point during your In Context session you can sign in with a gmail account in order to save documents, notes, highlights and citations to Google Drive

10 If you are not authenticated into your gmail account already upon clicking on the g Sign in link, you will be asked to either confirm your credentials or prompted for your gmail address and password

11 Once you are signed in, the name attached to your gmail account will display e.g., Welcome Sara

12 Now that you are signed in with your Google account, you can export documents, citations, and highlights & notes to Google Drive

13 Exporting a document to Google Drive Open the document, click on the Download option under Tools You will then see an option to download to Google Drive

14 Downloading Documents with Highlights & Notes to Google Drive Open the document, add your highlights & notes Click on Download under Tools You will then see an option to download to Google Drive

15 Exporting Highlights & Notes to Google Drive From the highlighted articles page, choose Download and choose download to Google Drive This action downloads a document that comprises a list of your highlights & notes to Google Drive with direct links back to the original article in the In Context product

17 Downloading the contents of “My Folder” (saved items) to Google Drive Users can save documents to a Folder by clicking on the Save link, this allows users to compile a list of relevant documents When ready to view the documents in your folder click on the More icon and then select My Folder Once documents are saved to My Folder, users have an option to download them to Google Drive

19 How to View Downloaded Documents in your Google Drive Account Log into Google Drive (drive.google.com) If you have already exported documents from an In Contex product those documents will appear in a folder (e.g., Opposing Viewpoints in Contex)

20 How to View Downloaded Documents in your Google Drive Account Clicking into the Opposing Viewpoints in Context folder allows you to view any of the documents that you exported to Google Drive

21 How to View Downloaded Documents in your Google Drive Account Opening any of the downloaded In Context documents stored on Drive allows users to utilize the full suite of Google Docs tools available to further edit, organize, share & collaborate.

22 Warning Message If a user has not logged in with their gmail account during their In Context session and they save items to My Folder, or make highlights & notes on any documents, they will be prompted to confirm their logout request, thus preventing loss of work
