1 Computer Lab “Teach-To’s” Classroom Expectations

2 Entering the Lab Goal: We will enter the lab safely, quietly, and efficiently. Stay in single file line to enter classroom. Walk directly to seat or designated area. Voice off. Keep hands and feet to self. Begin work right away. Complete task.

3 Following Directions Goal: We are able to follow directions the first time they are given so we can do our work correctly and promptly. Quiet voice. Eyes on speaker. Hands and feet still. Listen to all information and wait to ask questions at the end. Begin work immediately when teacher is finished explaining.

4 Listening Goal: We are able to listen attentively when someone is speaking or the teacher is teaching. Eyes on speaker. Voice off. Hands and feet still Sit up straight. Raise hand to speak or ask questions.

5 Raising Hand Goal: We are able to raise our hand in such a way that allows the teacher to teach and all students to learn. Eyes on speaker. Hand up straight and still. Sit up straight. Hands and feet quiet and still.

6 Asking for help Goal: We will be able to politely ask for help without disrupting others. Low voice, whisper. Begin with “Excuse me” and wait for acknowledgement. Say “Thank you.” before leaving. Walk with quiet feet.

7 Announcements Goal: We are able to stop working and quietly listen to announcements. Voice off. Materials down and untouched. Hands and feet still. Freeze in place immediately. Raise hand to ask questions when announcement is over.

8 Communicating with others
Goal: We are able to communicate with others in such a way that is polite and respectful. Use “Please”, “Thank you” and “Excuse me.” Low voice. Face the person. Stop to speak to the other person. Wait quietly for turn to speak.

9 Problem solving Goal: We will be able to solve our own problems by using information around us and knowing how to get help. Look around for information. Whisper voice. Ask three people for help before teacher. Decide on a solution quickly. Begin task being solved.

10 Emergency Drills Goal: We can complete and emergency drill in a safe, orderly, and efficient manner. Line up immediately at signal. Voice off. Walk. Stay straight in single file line. Follow directions the first time.

11 Ending enhancement Goal: We will be able to clean up areas and prepare to leave promptly. Pick up all trash and throw away in trash can. Walk. Gather materials to take back to homeroom. Use low voice. Straighten up computer station quickly.

12 Lining up Goal: We will be able to line up quickly and quietly.
Voice off. Walk. Hands crossed or in pockets. Face forward. Hold objects with hands in front or on side.

13 Leaving computer lab Goal: We are able to quietly exit the classroom in such a way that does not interfere with others working. Walk. Voice off. Hands and feet to self. Open door quietly. Close door quietly.

14 Refocus: Graceful exit
Goal: We will be able to gracefully remove ourselves from the group when asked to Refocus in a way that allows the teacher to teach and the students to learn. Voice off. Walk to Refocus area in classroom. Reflect on behavior. Wait for teacher to speak with you.

15 Refocus Moment Goal: We will be able to complete the Refocus form in such a way that it does not interrupt the teacher from teaching or the students from learning. Sit down in chair with all four legs on the floor. Answer all questions accurately. When finished, place pencil and paper. Sit quietly and wait for teacher. Return to group quietly.
