2 Collaboration  In order to effectively collaborate you must first have something to bring to the table.  Defining your niche, your area of expertise….ask yourself these questions:  What makes what I do different and/or better than others ?  Do I have the capacity to perform the services?  Do I know the rules of engagement?

3 A co-op is the formation of smaller companies united to move forward as one big company Why? If your company doesn’t have all the necessary pieces, infrastructure, procedures and budget It takes off the sidelines and puts you in the game In this financial climate - how long will it take before you have the capacity to attract investment ( funding) Co-Operation *********************************************************************************

4 Collaboration is when two or more equally yoked, skilled organizations come together to complement each others strength to share in a common goal or focus (MOU) Co-Operation is when two or more entities come together in order to create one whole organization capable of receiving funds, delivering services, and being accountable to funders and their target population. (Contract) What’s the difference??

5 Coordinated – Charity Term used to define how to be responsive to trends, disasters, high community needs –For example: If your expertise is in physical fitness, nutrition and wellness. –News flash, 85% of the area’s high school students tested positive for diabetes – Public Outcry, etc –Are you in position to provide those services so that you can request charity to assist those students

6 Re-Inventing your Company  Attractive brochures  Messaging  Credibility  Remember what Funders want  Solve Issues  Make A Difference  See a Change  Recognition

7 How do u communicate that change? What are the stories? What is your method of marketing ? Communication is Key

8 Social Media  Facebook  Communicate stories  Images  Articles  Events  Twitter  Quick links  News  Trends  Become part of a conversation  # (Hashtags) #Timeforchangefdn

9 Social Media  You tube –Communicate visually –Evoke emotion –Mobility  Facebook, Twitter, Google+, website  Google+ –Communicate target groups/socially
