4 What is migration? The movement of people from one place to another to live, usually with the intention of it being permanent or semi-permanent. People may choose to migrate (voluntary) or may be compelled to migrate (forced). Examples? Look at the two maps. For each one write a sentence to describe the main trends shown.

8 Why do people migrate? The reasons why they move can be divided into PUSH & PULL factors PUSH FACTORS: war, poor housing, poor sanitation, no work or poorly paid work, famine, drought, natural disasters etc. PULL FACTORS: stable government, good housing, work & well-paid jobs, good housing, education opportunities etc. Watch the clip below.
